IKOULA 现在可用 Debian 11 和 Rocky Linux

Two new OS are now available for our VPS Flex’Server Linux ranges our dedicated servers or public Cloud.

This development follows the announced end of CentOS 8 (scheduled for December 31, 2021).

The goal being to offer one or more alternatives with a large number of CentOS 8 users.

Debian 11 Bullseye

The finalized version of Debian 11 was released on August 16 and is now usable in production. Among the new features improved by this new version, we can for example cite:

* Kernel upgrade

A newer kernel will provide better support for the latest devices and hardware, as well as better value for your resources.

* Updated package base

All the popular built-in packages are updated, modernizing the entire environment.

* Improved password security

Debian 11 has also changed its default password encryption algorithm from SHA-512 to Yescrypt.

Rocky Linux

Rocky Linux is one of the community distribution created to replace CentOS.

Developed by a team linked by Gregory KURTZER (founder of CentOS), this OS is now stable and usable in production.

It is one of the most credible alternatives for CentOS 8 users.

Indeed, like Alma Linux (already deployable on our VPS), it is based on RHEL (Red Hat Enterprise Linux).

Thus it presents all the advantages of the new distribution developed by Red Hat.

Although the project is still young, the development team is made up of developers who were in CentOS.

This brings extra guarantees about the reliability of the production version.

Finally, the founder of CentOS 8, at the origin of Rocky Linux, promises long-term support.
