AWS is able to offer extremely low prices on Savings Plans because of the commitment a customer makes to drive up resource utilization. This in turn reduces our cost, and we pass that cost reduction on to customers. While Savings Plans normally can’t be canceled, as they have a fixed contract term when purchased, the Service Teams are sometimes able to approve an exception. I will be happy to reach out to the service teams and advocate on your behalf to see if they would be willing to agree to an exception to our Saving Plans terms. To advocate on your behalf to the Savings Plan service team to approve an exception to the terms, they would require more business use case on why you would like to cancel the resource in a below format.
